How Long a Cabinet Project Actually Takes

Free in-home measure Written itemized quote No obligation

A cabinet project runs in three stages: design and ordering, then manufacturing, then installation. Manufacturing is the long pole and it depends entirely on the line and the finish you choose. Refacing is faster because there is nothing to build. We price the schedule at the measure and put your dates in writing. Refacing is much faster, usually a few days on site once the doors arrive. The long pole is almost always manufacturing, not installation, which is why the honest date comes after the design is signed, not before.

The four phases, realistically

Design comes first: the in-home measure, the 3D drawing and the itemised quote, and how fast that moves depends mostly on how quickly decisions get made. Ordering follows sign-off. Manufacturing is the longest stretch, and it depends on the line, the finish and the time of year. Installation itself is the shortest phase by far, and it is scheduled only once everything has arrived and been inspected.

Why installation is scheduled last, deliberately

The most avoidable way a kitchen project goes wrong is starting demolition before every component has arrived and been checked. If one wall cabinet is damaged in transit or one door arrives in the wrong finish, a kitchen that was torn out on schedule sits unusable for weeks waiting on a replacement. Everything is delivered and inspected first, then installation is booked. It feels slower on paper and is almost always faster in practice.

What genuinely causes delays

In order: decisions, damage and discoveries. Decisions, because a finish that takes three weeks to settle pushes everything three weeks. Damage, because transit happens and a replacement door runs on its own lead time. Discoveries, because opening up an older Spring Valley or Paradise kitchen occasionally reveals plumbing or wiring that was moved once already and has to be addressed properly rather than covered over.

Seasonality in this valley

Las Vegas neighbourhoods were built in waves, so they hit remodel age together, and spring and autumn run busiest across the whole trade. If you want work done before a holiday or an event, the constraint is rarely the installation crew, it is the manufacturing queue. Starting the design a month earlier is usually worth more than any amount of pushing at the end.

Good to know

Questions, answered.

How long will I be without a kitchen?

Only the installation window itself, because installation is not scheduled until everything has arrived and been inspected. That window is on your written quote before we start. For refacing, the kitchen stays largely usable throughout.

Can a cabinet project be done faster?

Refacing is the genuinely fast option, typically a few days on site. For replacement, the honest lever is choosing a line with a shorter manufacturing queue, not compressing installation.

Do you give a date in writing?

Yes. The written quote carries the installation date, and installation is only booked once every component has arrived and been inspected.

What happens if something arrives damaged?

It gets reordered and you are told immediately. Because installation is not booked until everything is checked in, a damaged door delays a date rather than leaving your kitchen in pieces.
